The Coastal Bend Community Foundation (CBCF) was incorporated in 1981 with the mission of improving the quality of life to the seven counties of the Coastal Bend. The Foundation serves donors by providing a vehicle f the establishment of various types of charitable funds designed to fulfill their wishes. Since its inception, the Foundation has distributed over $149 million from donor contributions and revenues to scholarships to students and grants to nonprofit organizations.
The Sinton Historical Museum was awarded $5,000 to upgrade the lighting in the building from outdated florescent lighting to more "friendly" LED lighting. The updated lighting will help to deter fading and thus help to preserve the artifacts on display.

Billy McIntyer of Corpus Christi, Texas heard stories of his uncle, Jim Wolfshohl, from his mother. It was from her that he learned of his uncles's barbershop and family connections to Sinton. Billy's parents left Sinton when he was very young, so her had never visited the barber shop or family members in Sinton. It was chance that brought Billy to the Sinton Historical Museum where he was able to make connections to his family history.

Once upon a time, the local newspaper, The San Patricio County News, used to run business ads that featured members of the Sinton High School team during football season. This ad from the Sinton Feed & Seed Store included a photo of Fernando Hernandez. This young man later became owner and sole proprietor of the popular Tasty Taco restaurant in town (late 1960's to mid-1970's). Hernandez claims to be the creator of the tortilla burger which is now a popular food item in South Texas.
Hernandez is currently in his early 90's. He and his wife still live in Sinton. This item was brought to the museum by his daughter, D. Jimenez. No exact date was provided, but probably the late 1940's.
The Sinton Texas Historical Museum collects and preserves historical artifacts relating to the early settlers of the Sinton, Texas area and their descendants for the purpose of educating the public and future generations of the local and area history and its part in the story of Texas.
Dream becomes Reality
A small group of Sinton residents were concerned that the history of the community was being lost to the younger generation. In order to preserve the local history the group advocated for a museum and collected artifacts from Sinton and area residents. After some years, a building was finally secured and the museum doors opened to the public in 2011.

Our Collection bin has easy access and is located along North McCall St.
This utility trailer was customized by the students of the Coastal Bend College Welding Department. The trailer was funded by the Port of Corpus Christi.
The museum provides the only collection bin for aluminum cans in the City of Sinton.
The cans are transferred from the collection bin on McCall Street onto the utility trailer. They are then towed by vehicle 5 miles to Camacho's for recycling.
The Bin on Wheels is at times displayed at local and area events to provide individuals opportunity to participate in the first step of recycling.
